[Rockhounds] New list of official mineral symbols (abbreviations)

...so whenever I have the opportunity to use abbreviations for minerals, say in labeling diagrams in slide presentations, I will continue to use the traditional, simple abbreviations for minerals that have been used for a century or more, like or = orthoclase, ab = albite, an = anorthite, fo = forsterite, etc.  and not some damn fool newly devised and unnecessary 3-letter abbreviations for those same minerals!Cheers, PeteSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
