[Rockhounds] Iridium in undersea crater confirms asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs

I looked into this tired old controversy.

It really only matters in terms of what it would take to have the same 
effect again.

Actually the asteroid impact occurred right in the middle of the Deccan 
Trap eruptions and changed their nature.   There was definitely an 
abrupt effect on earth's life caused by the meteor strike.
