Hi Gang, I personally have been very interested in the comments about
finding a way to smartly find a home for one's mineral collection. I have
already donated geology books to a local geology dept. I'm Trying to gather
a lists of dealers interested in low - medium - and high end specimens. I
know I will donated some to my club for their silent auction. I have a bunch
of strange to weird items for those interested in the very different. I
have quite a few rather good feldspar specimens, and being a light weight
species collector, there are a few good ones in this department. So I
believe I'm looking to make a lists of potential dealers. It would be nice
to have some help with this!

Larry,
I'm with you. I am doing the same thing. It is somewhat painful but as I
sell or give away my pieces, I have some fond memories and stories to pass
along, and assuming I finish divesting of my collection before I die, I'll
know that everything went to someone who wanted it and it won't all get
thrown out by whoever manages my estate.
Best,
Don
