Hi Tim,
Not necessarily "no new science"...
Mauna Kea is "holy ground" for the native Hawaiians. They impose some strict
rules if anyone wants to build on their holy spots.

I just read an article about the proposed new telescope on Mauna Kea, sounds
like a tough situation. Looks like the state approved the construction
permit with conditions that they remove 3 other telescopes and won't be
allowed to build any more. Is that right? "No more telescopes" sounds an
awful lot like "no new science" to me.
