[Rockhounds] Man-made gems

Lets face it, man has been making glass imitation gems for a few hundred
years now, so these high-end tourmaline-like tumblers don't bother me too
much. Something that bothers me a whole lot more are the heavily promoted
"Natural smoky quartz doubly-terminated Herkimers" from China that turn out
to be irradiated quartz with polished ends...At least, they are genuine
quartz crystals and not made out of glass, I think!
