[Rockhounds] Man-made gems

[Tim Fisher]

Lab synthetic imitations are very popular with faceters who don't have a
small fortune to spend on natural emerald, rubies, etc. I have no problem
with them as long as they are represented as man-made. Most of them are very
close in color but of course not in the "natural" crystal habit(s).
