Question, I am a total Quarry know little. I did go on some major Quarry Field Trips when my balance was far better. I live in Oceanside, California where there were two Quarries active. One left a giant hole and deeded the property to the city of Oceanside, where much remains an open pit. Close to that there is a Yard Waste Dump and a Green Waste Recycling area from where I have as a resident, gotten free compost and bark. There was much City Council Fighting on the ultimate use of the land. A major Hotel and Golf Course were denied as being “too elitist.” There is a Senior Center and some soccer Fields and lots of weed overgrown hills.
Across Oceanside Boulevard is a working Quarry, primarily Cement. Is there any value there? I have bought some “Bricks” from an adjacent business. I’d love some access to tailings, how may I approach that. I am mandated to reduce Water use and have only to the end of this month to comply. My grandson is working alone to get this done. The criteria is very strict. We must take at least 25% of the yard and create drought resistant area. My yard is very large for residential property, Was a “Hill” with top lopped off and house planted. Sadly the cement truck emptied in my back yard, the Stucco in my direct neighbors. Grass depth was less than 3 inches into heavy clay soil.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Terrie
