I've been missing from the Rockhounds list for a while because I got locked
out of my deepskyspy email address. Every time I submitted proof that I am
who I say I am, it went nowhere.
That means my address book is inaccessible. If you replied to any of my
Garza - Robinson sale postings - I lost your address. Please reply to me
directly so I can rebuild my address book on gmail.
Rock-wise, I spent eight days in Tucson earlier this month. I visited most
of the shows on or near Oracle and west of I-10. My first visit was last
year. I had a great time taking many pictures, talking to old friends, and
even buying a few things - fossils, minerals, books & some fun t-shirts.
I presented at the Tucson Star Party on connecting the distance of
galaxies to the history of life. No one seems to realize that when you
observe a galaxy 75 million light years away, that light you see is from
the Late Cretaceous period, when T. rex was roaming across North America! I
think I'm going to write a book about observing "fossil light."
I've posted some photos and stories on my blog page at
alangoldsteinsuniverse.com.
Regards,
Alan Goldstein
