Very cool! Walking around the Racetrack observing the stones and their
tracks years ago was an amazing experience. One time hiking from the
Grandstand a couple miles all the way south to the source of the rocks
at some cliffs -- meeting others who drove the road.
There was one evening when I hiked alone up Ubehebe Peak, nearby to the
west, descending into a very windy rainstorm. I thought, "I'm gonna go
be the first person to see the rocks move!" Alas it just didn't rain
that much -- it's an incredibly arid desert after all. And as the
article makes clear, the suspicion was confirmed that floating ice
sheets are required.
Cheers,
