[Rockhounds] possibly OT or maybe not OT - spam filters

Linda, Good point. Since I do Gmail, Google kindly (lol) files it in many
ways and sometimes it is lost. It got to the point that I have a
separate email address I use as my "high priority" email address and it
never gets used for registrations or shared. Email like this drizzle list
still goes to my default emails, I just have it filtered I made so that it
pops up to the top. Of course, setting up filters are a pain.

Gmail folks can attach tags into their email if they put it into a service
or share it. So myemail at gmail.com could be my normal email and I could use
myemail+rockhounds at gmail.com also. When it gets to Gmail, they will drop
from the "+" sign on and you will still get the email but it can then be a
hint if you start getting spam that, that email address was siphoned off or
sold by the rockhounds group or whatever you use after the "+" symbol.
(ie, myemail+attaccount at gmail.com or myemail+cablebill at gmail.com) So you
can then take appropriate steps if needed. It may work for other email
servers but no guarantee, so Your Mileage May Vary...
