I'll be the grumpy curmudgeon ... I wish the people who wrote these articles would stick to the science more ... lonsdaleite is no more a form of diamond than aragonite is a form of calcite. However, :) thanks for posting the info.  Interesting that they published in PNAS and not one of the mineralogy journals.
