Very good & funny, ...G (is it Gary, or George?), thanks for sharing this!
I'm also very glad I clicked on the glaciers/climate change cartoon, that is excellent, a really great combination of understanding about the relation of geologic change to human history! I saved a copy. Hard to decide whether to file my copy of the picture (record for the longest-length picture image I have on file), whether under "Geology", "History", "Humor", or "Misc." [I filed it a folder under "Climate Change"!]
[I must admit, I never ever heard of the movie "300", nor of the comic book it's based on. No clue at first what that was about, though once I was clued in to the context, I recognized the reference to the 300 who defended Thermopylae.]
Nor, I must also admit, do I ever hear or read anything about XKCD, except for occasional references to the comic that have appeared here in Rockhounds (all posted by you, Gary?). Maybe it is a generational thing, Baby Boomers like me maybe don't access the same sources... How/where does one see those cartoons, anyway?
Cheers and thanks again,Pete Modreskidefinitely a "first year" Baby Boomer!

You have to love XKCD. They have at least three or four geology related comics each month.
GcB
It is not often you find plate tectonics in a comic.
