Alan, it's a game of numbers... Of all the people that pass your table, a certain percentage will stop and take a look at it. I'm clueless as to why you want them to, unless you let them pay for the privilege of just looking... (no touchy feely?).
Again, some percentage of the lookers will actually buy something off your table. In my view, that is what you SHOULD want, but hey... I don't know what you charge for a quick peek at your rocks... pun fully intended.
So, the numbers tell us that a fraction of a fraction is bigger when the whole is big.

I set up at a writer’s conference to sell my children’s novel and Steve Garza’s minerals a couple of weeks ago. There, it was 95% healie-feelie. A friend who is knowledgeable “in the ways of the Force” assisted. Although he is grounded in science, he knows what must be done to make sales.

Axel wrote, “but also your invited dealers will see MUCH more visitors passing their tables. Other dealers will hear of that and your show will grow...” --- I don’t want people passing my table – I want them to stop and take a look!
