The Denver Museum of Nature & Science has a panel from the roof of the house in Canon City, CO that was hit by a meteorite in 1973. (I just checked, it was their garage roof that was hit.) They sawed the panel from the roof, preserving the hole that the meteor made. I doubt that, at the time, anyone received any large payment for providing that, though. Things may have changed--of course, any meteorite that is documented to have actually hit (and damaged!) something, has now become a prime sought-after object.
Cheers & good wishes to you (and all), Axel!

Unless... The Smithsonian may well bid a steep bid on the house and the meteorite...
Could be that this lady is a future millionaire!

Having a meteorite smash through your roof is not exactly lucky!

A LUCKY woman is thanking the stars after narrowly avoiding being hit by a
meteorite that landed inches from her head as she slept.
Ruth Hamilton was nearly star-struck when she awoke to find the space rock
that tore through her roof in her small Canadian town of Golden, British
Colombia, on October 4.
