Hello Carolyn,
You're welcome 😉
The basics are also on my website. I should probably rewrite some of the items but that would make things somewhat harder to understand for the layperson. If you have extracted what you need, I 'd be happy to give it a read before you publish.
Franklin... I'm jealous 😉 For me that would be 8 hours on a plane and a stiff drive in a rental car.
Cheers from balmy Belgium (19 °C and lots of sun)
Axel

Thank you very much Axel. I wish to start with the basics, like What is Fluorescence and Other forms of luminescence.
When we are able to do field trips again, a trip to Sterling Hill and the Franklin Museum will be on our schedule.
I very much thank you for sharing!
Greeting from chilly rainy New York!
Cheers,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
Yes, one of those, LOL.
You have my blessing and my permission. It's actually the purpose of my website to disseminate knowledge about fluorescent minerals, so you help me fulfill that ambition.
One caveat: the site is up since more than a decade and not all the information is up to date. I fear that I may have published some less than accurate data in the beginning before I got this smart. So, you best warn me what you're about to publish so I can advise you about possible errors/blunders.
If you need Hi-Res photos, I'm just a transatlantic glass fiber cable length away. Yell and thou shalt receive.
I have also the spectra. No need to download form the site.
Please do mention the author 😉
Keep up the good work, Carolyn

Hello Axel, I am one of those that look for very interesting things to learn. I am editor of our mineral club's [ the Mid-Hudson Valley Gem & Mineral Society] newsletter and would like permission to borrow information about fluorescence from the website I just viewed the fluorescing swedenborgite. Our club is in Poughkeepsie not that far from Sterling Hill and Franklin, New Jersey. We do have some new members asking about "glowing rocks".
I would like to be able to offer basic information about fluorescence in our newsletter.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Carolyn Reynard [FMS 0729]

Hi cher colleagues,
how does one photograph a blue fluorescing water clear crystal that is
embedded in fiercely red fluorescing calcite? And how does one measure its
spectrum?
Well, with perseverance and lots of valium.
Anyhow, I did both and placed it on my website for you to enjoy.
It's worth a peek, so go see: http://fluo.mineralogie.be/homeENG.html and
follow the link in the BLOG or go directly there:
