[Rockhounds] The sand shortage

I remember when I worked in Saudi Arabia, I saw cargo trucks of labeled with the name of that company in south Jersey (the name of which I forget now).  I asked about it, and was told that the sand on the Arabian peninsula was far too fine to be useful for construction and concrete casting.
