Half suckered, John 😉

Belongs to the hydrotalcite group. Normally brown or green BUT when contaminated with chromium: deep purple (smokes when on water and may speak to your inner timeless child).

Ok, all you savants. Here in a much diminished Tucson. Got a few pieces of a deeply purple mineral a Russian dealer called "iowalite" from the Altai mtns. I can't find anything about it on Google. Any ideas other than that I am a sucker?
