[Rockhounds] Molten blobs

Giant Blobs floating on the iron core of the Earth. Such a great image conjured in my mind. So technical a term, also ~!!~
More seriously, what they are able to do with seismic waves and imaging the depths of the Earth, is just fabulous.
 Thanks for sharing these high-tech results with us. What I love most about the Rockhounds listserv~!!~ Well, that and the collecting pieces, but we haven't had that much on field collecting lately -- do you youngsters still go out to dig up rocks?
