Larry,
I'm with you. I am doing the same thing. It is somewhat painful but as I sell or give away my pieces, I have some fond memories and stories to pass along, and assuming I finish divesting of my collection before I die, I'll know that everything went to someone who wanted it and it won't all get thrown out by whoever manages my estate.
