I'm relieved to announce that my Pacific Northwest (and beyond) Rockhounding
Guide DVD Version 7, a major update to Version 6 is on sale through my
website http://orerockon.com/CD.htm. In addition to OR, WA, ID, and western
MT in version 6, this version includes Cali north of San Francisco (or
thereabouts) and eastern MT. I've spent the last 6 weeks chained to my desk
to do this version which is longer than my 4 week "worst case scenario" J
The prices are $45 for the DVD, $51 for the USB, and $50 for the Micro SD
Card versions, plus postage (First Class Mail $2.66, Priority Mail $8.00,
First Class Canada about $9.00). All current CD/DVD owners who have
purchased any version before and including 6.0, receive upgrades to the new
version 7 at half price. So your cost would be $22.50 for the V7 DVD format
(plus postage etc.)! Feel free to give your upgrade from a previous version
or purchase additional copies of V 7 for your friends or relatives! Ask if
you're eligible, I think I have every customer but I'm sure I missed
someone. Email me for the upgrade options! They are not on the website. DVDs
will be mailed on or before next Saturday (my burner toasted itself last
night), USB and microSD versions are ready to go out starting Monday.
Version 7 feature new sites in nine recently published rockhounding guide
books; see the details below or jump to the website.
OreRockOn On DVD Version 7 includes:
36 site writeups with details on what you'll find, digging tips, and photos
of the sites and the booty :)
Over 2,300 photos of dig sites, rocks, minerals, fossils, scenic views,
critters, (and a couple dirty rockhounds!)
Locations include ALL sites with rock, mineral, or fossil collecting
opportunities in these 9 recently published (and awesome) books:

ds> Rockhounding Montana by Montana Hodges 99 waypoints on 66 topo maps for
91 of 100 sites in the book that have rockhounding opportunities.
That's a total of 900 sites and 1,761 waypoints folks! If you have any of
the books the DVD will be an immense help in actually getting to sites and
have other nearby sites and more waypoints for many of them. If you have the
DVD then purchasing the books for the states you're interested in is an
excellent idea, I leave it up to the authors to give details for sites I
didn't already have.
387 1:100,000 scale Overview Maps that show very recent Land Ownership
status for each waypoint. All maps have mileposts on all state and US
highways (except CA, which doesn't use standard mile markers).
1,053 detailed shaded relief topo maps. There are maps for 900 sites in the
six guide books; 541 sites in the first 5 books and 359 new sites in the 3
new books (many, obviously, are overlapping sites between all the books and
my writeups).
3,368 GPS waypoints <file:///E:\Documents\OreRockOn\All%20Waypoints.png> of
places where material has been found and other locations to begin your
search.
All the overview maps are clickable - you can click on any topo map to view
the detailed map!
Instructions on printing full size maps, getting waypoints into GPS enabled
devices, GPS model recommendations. Lists that have all the information
describing each waypoint to print out and take with you. A Google Earth file
so you can view satellite photos of each map and dig site or fly from site
to site in 3D (which is insanely helpful)!
Plus a few cool bonus features!
Works on all Windows and MAC devices, and most mobile devices. Ask if you
aren't sure, if you device has a DVD drive, USB port or SD card slot it's a
simple setup. There are instructions for those devices that don't have any
of these (like my current phone grrr).
And once again a big THANK YOU to all of my customers for your support over
the last 20 years!
