If the stuff that stuck to your magnet can be crushed, it 's probably non-meteoritic. If it's is metallic (like you find around meteor crater in Arizona) it will probably be malleable, not brittle.

Thank you Kreigh. I was thinking in the lines of if a small (minute) fraction of a percentage of the magnet material could have come from meteorites. Just wondering if it could occur in many places worldwide but in minute quantities.
