[Rockhounds] Inferring meaning where there is none by geologists

We have an online database where we have to register our methods/protocols. As one might imagine, it's just a list that sits there, virtually no one else is using it.

Ideally journals should make researcher register their hypothesis before starting. This would prevent F stat games.
