The statement about the Anthropocene being only a "thin layer" (I seem to
remember reading something like that...).  ALL epochs started with a "thin
layer".  Every age has to start with a "thin layer".   And if that thin
layer is marked by an up-tick in radiation and evidence of global warming?
That's just the way it is.
