Steve: I was in a rock shop last week and saw some crystal groups that looked like they were made of plastic....
Very accurate crystal form, and a bit gaudy color, obviously looking manufactured. The owner told me he printed them out on his 3D printer.

They might make good teaching tools for a crystallography class, if you could make examples of all of the crystal systems, 
or just to put on your mantle to create conversation. (or to sell them in a rock shop!)

Maybe they can serve to stimulate interest in the real thing!!
