The September update to www.sauktown.com will be posted today.
The unmounted specimens are all new. They include a fibrous
heulandite, V-twins od cerussite, and malachite from the Christmas
Mine in Arizona. While malachite is generally considered a fairly
common mineral, it isn't common at the Christmas Mine!
There are also some interesting pseudomorphs after stibnite from
Nevada. I'm not sure what they are- could be stibiconite, valentinite
or something else.
There's also cyanotrichite from the Blue Crystal Mine in Colorado.
I've heard that this might be the old Big Indian Mine, but can't
confirm it.
The mounted specimens include boleite and thomsenolite, both from the
type localities.
I'm adding another micro bag this month: the Gila River, in Grant
County, NM. I don't have detailed locality information, but there are
a number of outcrops along the road paralleling the Gila River, and
they are all pretty much the same.
