[Rockhounds] Hiddenite mine raided

In the article, the owners are quick to use the word "only", a common adjective in W NC claims. The term is not accurate. I've been to Emerald Hollow Mine, which is more of a tourist spot than an actual mine, in the traditional sense. They do specialize in cutting and setting emeralds, and it's a shame that someone would come in and remove the jewelry. To me, it sounds like an inside job. Hiddenite is a very small town, N of Statesville, NC. Everybody knows who is who, and the perpetrators, unless they are professional thieves who have the loot already sold, they will get caught. BTW, Alexander Co. NC is where Jamie Hill Jr. made the fabulous emerald discovery in 1998-'99.
