A few crumpled up scented dryer sheets stuck behind your battery works for
me. If you had to use twist ties to keep them in certain areas, do that.
Rodents hate the scent of dryer sheets, the stronger the scent the better.
I've been doing this for years, works like a charm.
Good luck to you. Rodents will eat anything.
