Paul, that is a good article about rodent damage to wiring.
In Virgin Valley, NV, we have resorted to keeping our hoods up at night to deter
packrats and other rodents from damaging our vehicles. I had a windshield washer
tube eaten through, and others have had extensive damage from rodent chewing.
Some of us used Decon for awhile, but we don’t use it much now because we don’t
want any of our pets or neighboring predators killed by eating a poisoned rodent.
Leaving the hood up at night seems to keep the animals from chewing wiring or starting
to build nests.
