What's going to be interesting is that all the light-weight deposits from the recent eruption are going to get washed away.  There's going to be some pretty gunky-looking streams and estuaries!

Also...  the waterfalls.  Oh.  My.  THE WATERFALLS.  I keep thinking of the Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls.  Lot's of signs warning you to NOT go into the gorge as in "People have died here".

Madame Pele builds up and Lono washes it away.
