Mahalo for letting us know you're all prepped!  I've been thinking about all the friends we made on our June trip to Hawai'I, and Dorothy and I are sending as much Positive Vibes your way.

At least the hurricane won't shake down the cabinets full of Glorious Mineral Specimens!  (and you should see them, kids... they ARE glorious!).

Hawaii is now enduring the largest hurricane -- named Lane -- ever in recorded history to hit the islands.  Bill and I live on the east side of the Big Island, so we aren't in the direct path of the center of the hurricane, but we've had over an inch of rain an hour most of the day today (Wednesday).  For the next few days Hurricane Lane is predicted to curve northwest over the west side of the island chain, which means Honolulu may be directly in its path.<snip>
