[Rockhounds] Why Pumice Floats and Why it Sinks

We here in northwest Oregon/southwest Washington could have told them that.
if you look long enough you can find pieces of Mt St Helens pumice from the
big blow in 1980 in the Cowlitz and Columbia Rivers to this day. Chuck them
in and they float.
