[Rockhounds] NASA study proposes way to prevent Yellowstone super volcano from destroying United States

I was only partially joking...
Climate change may or may not kill us all in the next 100 years... or set the endgame in motion. It's a matter of semantics.
Yellowstone may or may not erupt in the next 100.000 years and kill perhaps a billion or so.
Using common sense, I would tackle the climate issue first and plug the super volcano if we're still around to worry about it afterwards.

Don't joke around, someone in the gummint might notice!

On the other hand... a volcanic winter may counter the climate heating for a few years. Double whammy! Hail us, we're so smart! 😉

These versions are more navigable.

It's amazing that only British media and a few American scrap sheets have
picked up on it. And the articles all seem to have a common and very
strange and hard to follow visual design.
Another problem with the idea is that Yellowstone has some kind of venting
system that sometimes works, and noone understand it at all. In addition
to catastrophic explosions Yellowstone has many smaller eruptions much more often. There also seems to be some kind if underground plumbing draining
the chamber to some extent. Shutting them off would be more likely to lead
to catastrophe.

NASA believes the Yellowstone super volcano is a greater threat to life on Earth than any asteroid. So it’s come up with a plan to stop it erupting.
