[Rockhounds] Thai rubies

Thanks, Tim

the rubies are not super high quality, and it was clear when i bought them
that they were coated with something.  So, there is no issue of fraud.  i
did assume i could get the coating off.  with all the suggestion i have
gotten  i  surr something will work.

My friend said to google leaded glass treatment, and never use an
ultrasonic cleaner or get them near a torch.  Also if they were for your
use they should be fine, but if they were intended for commercial use it's
definitely not fine. If they were misrepresented as untreated you can email
me the people involved and he can look into it. He definitely has some pull
in the industry.

That would take some off, but the rubie/sapphire pieces are rough.
Tumbling would not remove the coating from the crevices.
